Week 11
Yeah so google docs seem useful. I haven't done anything I would call productive with them but they do come off as useful. Neat. Yeah........
Tag! oh I don't care who's it
I don't know all that much about tags. I use them on LibraryThing but that's about it. I hadn't ever played with Delicious before but I'm glad I did since I discovered Free Music Archive. Free music!!! My affair with Delicious will probably end there.

Pessimistically hopeful, optimistically doubtful: what week is this again?
I'm just not sure about all these social networking sites. I did get into it while in college so my experience with them is mostly unnecessary drama caused by who is friends with who and "what's up with what that $%#&* said on your wall?!?!?" type of experiences. So it's hard for me to think of them being useful as tools for professional life.
I'd like to think that the library could put some of this stuff to use. Then again I'm not sure who would actually use it and how. How many people are going to post that they're going to whatever event at the library? But who knows it could happen and might actually be useful.

lvl 43 scrapper LFT: week 8 gaming
No stranger to gaming here. Gaming in the library is not a bad thing i think, keeps us relevant. I mean with weirdness like Second Life a social networking / MMO that i think could be the death of other social networking sites in the future? Who knows how people will be communicating in even just a few years from now. We may be sticking holographic messages in our droids asking Obi Wan for help.....or maybe not.
Anyway my MMORPG of choice, City of Heroes, just added a very cool update/feature that is very Web 2.0. Issue 14 which went live yesterday allows players to change the content of the game. You can write your own missions design your own bad guys write the dialog everything. Then other players can try it out and rate it. So awesome. It makes the game more interesting a lot less stagnant and repetitive which tends to happen with MMOs (World of Warcraft)
OK I'm done geeking out now

Captain's Blog Stardate 9083853, week 6
I have had a Flickr account for a few years. I signed up in college to use it for a class project and it was really helpful. The project involved volunteering and we had to document what we had done and somehow include pictures, so uploading pics to Flickr and sending the link to my Professor was way easier than any of my other options. I worked with Tricycle Gardens an organization that helps build community gardens in and around Richmond. These are a couple of before and after pics of one garden I helped build.
